Paint on the Floor

A3 sized painted backgrounds litter the studio floor. Over the years David has painted a vast amount of these backgrounds as a part of his studio practice. The process David refers to as the 'experimental use and abuse of paint'.  Many such backgrounds are over painted with strong graphic imagery whilst others end up in collages or simply wait patiently for a new home.

View from on high of Egan's painting workspace with two large canvases in progress. The architecturally refurbished space was formally the printing factory of the 'Fairfax', publishers of the Sydney Morning Herald. More importantly the best coffee in town is just around the corner.

In aid of the Guide Dogs association Australia, David painted this fiber glass Dog. The piece was auctioned by Sotheby's at a charity event held at the QVB Sydney.
