Every Kinda People

From the famous to the everyday. Following from the outstanding international recognition for his series of paintings based on the idolised rock group U2, acclaimed artist David Egan takes a new direction with his latest exhibition, Every Kinda People.

The series of 20 paintings shows an abstract view of the expressions, moods and common experience of everyday people.

In his paintings David creates sharp-edged graphic figurative faces. With some works containing over 200 faces, each face is executed with an inventive fluid running solid black line. The faces overlay strong, contemporary and bold graphic abstract graphic forms.

"The facial expressions represent the various moods and feelings that a particular person goes through in one particular day depending on their life circumstances at that time," says David. "Alternatively, each face could represent the various people they encounter in life or the multi-layered and complex depth of a particular individual."

"The works also deal with how these people relate to the environment and circumstances they are in," says David. "This is portrayed in each work by the way they are composed within the graphic patterned background."
